Join the New ISA Community 

San Diego, California, Monday, April 30, 2007:  The International Surfing Association, ISA is launching a new community website and we want you to join!  We have partnered with SponsorHouse to create a truly unique online surfing community and it’s free to join.  In preparation for the 2007 Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship, we have designed a special event page for our friends to gather.  Here you will be able to access event information and check out the world’s best Junior surfers. 

The event will be held May 4-13 in Costa da Caparica, Portugal.  We are expecting almost 30 countries with Argentina, Australia, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, France, Germany, Great Britain, Guatemala, Hawaii, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Mexico, Morocco, New Zealand, Peru, Portugal, South Africa, Spain, Tahiti, USA and Venezuela scheduled to participate. 

By joining the ISA community you will be able to view other community member profiles, post comments, photos, interact with other members while checking out what’s happening at the Quiksilver ISA World Junior Surfing Championship.  In addition, if you are a surfer in search of sponsorship this community will help you connect with industry sponsors.

About International Surfing Association (ISA):
The International Surfing Association (ISA) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as the World Governing Authority for surfing, bodyboarding and surfriding.  It was originally founded as the International Surfing Federation in 1964 and has been running world championships since 1964 and the Junior World Championships since 1980. 

ISA membership includes the surfing National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of over 50 countries on six continents.  Its headquarters are located in San Diego, California. It is presided by Fernando Aguerre, first elected in 1994 in Rio, and re-elected six times since.  The ISA's four Vice Presidents are Alan Atkins (Australia), Robin de Kock (South Africa), Maile Aguerre (Hawaii) and Mike Gerard (USA).
